We went to Fish Lads last night for their all you can eat Fish and Chips deal. WOW! Best fish and chips I've had in a long, long time! The cod was BIG log like pieces of fish that were perfectly cooked. Crispy breading that wasn't too thick; and moist, flavorful fish inside that breading! Even the fries were awesome! This is the type of fish and chips that we've been searching for. More of the British style, rather than the flat pieces of fish most places around here serve. We will definitely be back often!

Came here on Saturday with my family i had the fish and chips and I must say its the best fish and chips that ive ever had ,the fish was cryspy with alot of flavor perfectly cooked and the fries were cryspy while fluffy at the same time , Im at a loss for words so i decided to to come again today an hour before closing and the employees were really nice and the food was amazing today again. keep up the good work we really appreciate you guys

Fantastic meal and experience! Staff member was able to explain, they do offer a gluten-free option for fish and chips. It was light and delicious, the tartar sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Fresh local fish available. Other customers were raving about the salmon jerky, and it did not disappoint either. Very satisfied with my visit.

It was a dreary, rainy, cool day for a good hot bowl of soup, and Fish Lad's Clam Chowder Soup did not disappoint! The Clam Chowder Soup was a creamy chowder with wood smoked beans in it and came with a couple slices of bread. This is a perfect fall soup! This was my first visit here and I look forward to trying other things as well.

The best perch I've ever had! We stopped into Downtown Market, while taking a day trip into Grand Rapids. It was our first time here, and we immediately noticed the display cases of fresh fish and decided to check it out. The made to order menu wasn't extensive, but seemed focused on quality over quantity. Ordered the Yellow Perch fish and chips, along with the Clam Chowder. The bread is served from another stall over called Field and Fire, it was delicious. Everything was made to order, so out came out piping hot and fresh. The perch was incredible! Perfectly crunchy, seasoned and the portions were good size. The fries were a little salty, but not off putting. The clam chowder was hearty and the bacon added an extra kick of flavor In between Fish Lads and Carvers is an oyster bar where you can sit and enjoy ordered food. It was a great spot to people watch. They also have a small area for tinned goods and seasonings Highly recommend for supporting a local fishery!
